Warning Labels, Yoga & the Art of Seeing Clearly

"You don't always have to learn the hard way."
We’ve all done it. Skimmed the warning label, ignored the instructions, thought “I’ll figure it out.” Sometimes we get lucky. Other times we end up with a bruise—or a story.
In this episode, I take something as simple as a plyometric box—the kind you’d find in a gym—and use it as a lens to talk about the ways we learn (or don’t learn) from the warnings life gives us. With honesty and humor, I share how often we overlook signals because we think we know better, and how that can turn even the most ordinary object into a teacher.
We explore why human nature pushes us to ignore repeated cautions, how we can become “deaf” to guidance, and what that reveals about our patterns. From the boy-who-cried-wolf effect to the misunderstandings that arise when communication isn’t clear, there’s wisdom in slowing down and actually reading what’s in front of us.
This is where yoga comes in. The discipline of practice sharpens perception, making it easier to tell truth from noise. Clear seeing is a skill we build on the mat that carries into life, keeping us from having to learn every lesson the hard way. I also share stories of fleeting moments of samadhi—those timeless states of pure awareness—that remind us why practice matters.
By the end, I invite you to notice the “warning labels” in your own life. Not as something to fear, but as gentle reminders to be present, disciplined, and rooted in awareness. Because the more clearly we see, the less often we stumble over lessons we didn’t need to repeat.
