April Fools Is Every Day When We Prank Ourselves
Share:
“We don't need April Fool's Day to pay attention to the things in our lives that we have fooled ourselves about.”
I was thinking about April Fools this morning and it struck me how much we don’t actually need a special day for pranks. We do a pretty good job of fooling ourselves already. We buy into stories, cling to old frameworks, and live in alternate realities without even realizing it.
It feels absurd sometimes when I catch myself doing it, and I see it in the world around us too. Yoga and Ayurveda aren’t about pretending everything is peaceful and perfect. They’re about gently bringing us back to what is real, back to discernment, back to the power source so we can actually shine instead of staying stuck in illusion.

Something to Sit With
Where in your life are you still pranking yourself with a story that no longer feels true?
⸻
A Restorative Step:
Take sixty seconds today to sit quietly and ask yourself one simple question: “What story am I still believing that might not be the full truth?” Just notice what comes up, no judgment.
